Today I have been doing Tampere, and for me it has only been an pleasure to explore this wonderful city! I have fallen in love a bit in the city itself, and also the friendly people here.
On todays agenda there were two inportnat thing to do: First a visit to see the fantastic steamengine, I cant resist old mechanics and this beauty was something else I tell you. The horsepower was 1658 when it was up and running, just check out the photos over at my flickr page! I spent a long time there thinking about the people working with it and how amazing it was. The engine was running the Finlays mill at the time from 1900 to 1955. A must see if you come to Tampere!
Second there is an Stone museum, and there I spent a long time. Wonderful. Amazing collection of stones. And the fossils is only them worth the price of the ticket!
After that over to an Wafell place recommended by Carol, I had an wafell with Goatcheese, strawberry jam and whipped cream. Nat a new combination to me, but it was delish really! And of course I had coffee with it! fter that I had to find a bus to take me to Pyynikki and the tower there, was told its one of the best views over Tampere. And it was wonderful, took both photos there nad slo did some bambusing (videos live) from the top. Great and fantastic! I was also told to have the cafe's donut and it was very sweet and good. Enjoyed the shadow there for quite some time as I was overheated after spending too much time in the sun. After that needed cooling down and resting a little I went by bus back to Tampere, the rest of the afternoon I spent in my favorite place in Tampere, the park near the waterfall.
In the evening Carol turned up nad we went to see the tryouts to the Olympics at the stadium. Carol has workmate that competes in 10 camp(?) so thats why. Anyway it was also something diffrent for me to see so it was kinda nice.
Then we went to an Japanese restaurant and had a wonderfu; Sushi, and also Sake of course! A place to come back too and the Sushi was one of the best I have ever eaten!
Now I'm sittibg here in Carol's kitchen for the last night this time. And I hope to return here one day not too far away. Thanks Carol for you incredible hospitality and also for the plans you made for me and I'm humbled to have you as my friend! Thanks!!

Hi all!
Finally being able to do my first blogpost, feels so good and I´m
happy to share it with you!
My journey started with traveking by boat over to Finland, it wasnt
exactly what I had hoped for but I got myself a long hard sleep doing
it. I slept for 10 hours almost in one go. This hasn´t happened in
years, thats for sure.
Arriving in Helsinki I had to set me up with neccesities like 3 day
card on the trams, sub etc, Prepaid phonecard (Kolumbus, also gives
you unlimited acess to internet for only around 7€) so when that was
done I took a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is lowbudget but totally
okay, I pay 85€ for two nights, the rooms have no own bathroom but the
ones in the corridor is clean so no worries there.
My first day, yes..... After a shower to freshen up I went downtown to
have a look around, and Helsinki is a nice and clean city. The
architecture reminds me of Vasaa and it was a feeling of coming home
to it.
My first observation must still be: What is it with Finland and
Japanese people. On my first day here, wherever I turned Japanese ppl
photoing and wlaking verywhere......I dont think there are so many
Japanese ppl even in Japan! Well I know it must be a touristwave or
so, but I was totally stunned. When I told Stefan (one of my Jaiku
friends) about it, he said he had never seen a lot of oriental
tourists so I might have been lucky?!?
My second observation is: The Finnish women! Well they say that
Swedish women are blond and slender, I say that this is true about the
Finnish women!
Anyway, my day continued with some minor shopping, got hold of a nice
hood that was on sale, and a nice pikeshirt.
At 3 pm I started to feel faintish, relized that I hadn´t eaten since
8am that morning. So me of to find food quick. I ended up at McDonalds
(the thruth is I dont like it, but they were the closest place!)
After an burger menu and then I was feeling alive agin, went to see an
modern art exposition, nice. The Senat building, also nice and then my
feet felt to darn tired so I returned to my room to have some rest (well, it ended up with
more than an hour of deep sleep....)
Day number two now. Woke up an hour later than I planned (note to self: set phone to autoupdate of time!)
Then I had an Message form Stefan that he will arrive in Helsinki bringing the phone.
So while waiting for him turn up I had some breakfast and rested.
When he turned up he invited me to come with him to the Nokia Building and
I was immeditly Into that! So finally I was able to de the Holy Grail fro all Nokia fans,
plus having an interseting and nice lunch in the house. (The salad was excellent!)
It was nice to finally met Stefan and I hope I will met him soon again!
So now I'm back with an N95 and can take good photos and such so until next time, C U all laterz!
...but I'm preparing an longer article about community's on the net and what they might be good for. But as I have recently started to investigate some of them it seems like I need to get settled a bit first at the sites. so I can give them the justice they deserve.
Meanwhile you just have to settle for a photo of the beautiful Swedish Spring.
Hi all!
Unfortuatly I have to spend it all to pay back a dept to the state, so it all goes round....:(
For a couple of days now I´vee had problems with Pcsuite. What happens is the following: When I update and reconnect my N95 it can´t install Nokia N95 phone parent. I have tries every solution I can dig out from the net, Nokia support forum and discussions groups. But even if I have installed, uninstalled and run the Nokia cleansoftware AND cleaned all the Nokia posts in the register it still can´t install. So now I´m back to an older version of Pc suite. Think its 6.85 and this means I can t reinstall he firmware on my phone wich I need.
So if there´s anybody out there (I know it´s a line from a song!) that can help me please comment on this.
All of you know that there is many online services to save photos and video's. Flickr, YouTube, Vox etc. is well know.
But Nokia has through TWANGO possibility to offer the most complete service that I have seen so far.
TWANGO is included in Nokia's OVI concept that is a portal towards Nokia's online services.
I can only establish following:
- Twango steadies in principle all photo, video and sound formats. Furthermore, one can save documents in other formats there also. TWANGO gives support to over 100 different file types.
- You get unlimited space for your documents
- Maximum file size is whopping 100 Mb
- You can invitefriends to look at your files without the need to sign up.
- You can on a simple way load up your pictures
from your camera mobile but if you do not have such a mobile, you can you
also in a simple way publish your pictures or other files from any computer.
I use the service now to store all my digital files and
at present it's more than 5 Gb and there wasn't any problems
to upload them. An advice only, divide up your uploads in
smaller rounds then it is easier that structure them.
Go to TWANGO you also and create yourself an account, one more excellent service you can't find!
