Today I have been doing Tampere, and for me it has only been an pleasure to explore this wonderful city! I have fallen in love a bit in the city itself, and also the friendly people here.
On todays agenda there were two inportnat thing to do: First a visit to see the fantastic steamengine, I cant resist old mechanics and this beauty was something else I tell you. The horsepower was 1658 when it was up and running, just check out the photos over at my flickr page! I spent a long time there thinking about the people working with it and how amazing it was. The engine was running the Finlays mill at the time from 1900 to 1955. A must see if you come to Tampere!
Second there is an Stone museum, and there I spent a long time. Wonderful. Amazing collection of stones. And the fossils is only them worth the price of the ticket!
After that over to an Wafell place recommended by Carol, I had an wafell with Goatcheese, strawberry jam and whipped cream. Nat a new combination to me, but it was delish really! And of course I had coffee with it! fter that I had to find a bus to take me to Pyynikki and the tower there, was told its one of the best views over Tampere. And it was wonderful, took both photos there nad slo did some bambusing (videos live) from the top. Great and fantastic! I was also told to have the cafe's donut and it was very sweet and good. Enjoyed the shadow there for quite some time as I was overheated after spending too much time in the sun. After that needed cooling down and resting a little I went by bus back to Tampere, the rest of the afternoon I spent in my favorite place in Tampere, the park near the waterfall.
In the evening Carol turned up nad we went to see the tryouts to the Olympics at the stadium. Carol has workmate that competes in 10 camp(?) so thats why. Anyway it was also something diffrent for me to see so it was kinda nice.
Then we went to an Japanese restaurant and had a wonderfu; Sushi, and also Sake of course! A place to come back too and the Sushi was one of the best I have ever eaten!
Now I'm sittibg here in Carol's kitchen for the last night this time. And I hope to return here one day not too far away. Thanks Carol for you incredible hospitality and also for the plans you made for me and I'm humbled to have you as my friend! Thanks!!

This day I planned to go to Soumenlinna (Sveaborg) but got the directions wrong(Typical me?) so I decided the spend some time in the city core of Helsinki and go by tram for a bit. I love trams, you can see so much and its qutie comfortable. My thoughts about Helsinki is that I will soon return and see more sometime soon!
After eating and having icecream (More Ice than cream!) I decided to catch an earlier trian to Tampere, said and done. Back to the Hotel to pick up my backpacker and then away to the station. Got on the first trian, an Intercity train and it was a nice one. a lot of space for you, not at all narrow between the seats. I could even fit my backpacker on the floor and have space for my feet. And the prices on trains in Finland arent that bad at all, I paid 25.90 euro from Helsinki to Tampere.
Arriving in Tampere my friend Carol met me at the station and we went over to her place so I could take my soooo needed shower. Then we went downttown to met another Jaiku friend, Minna. I love Jaiku and my friends everybody is so cool and nice to met also in real life. So we sat at the restaurant Saha Terrace (Saha means Saw in Finnish) and I was treated to the most wonderfull Elk Pasta, was fantastic! Thanks both to Carol and Minna for a wonderfull evening with good food and lotsa talking and having a great time!
And sitting there enjoying the sun and the talk was exactly what this trip is about for me, meeting friends and trying my own powers to see what I can do.I'm now feeling as a much stronger person and feel more at ease with myself, this travel has given me new powers and now I know that the only limit is me for what I can do.
